About

Global Carnivalz

Anything Carnival is Our Business

Global Carnivalz is an international Carnival consultancy, cultural strategy and creative development organisation. We connect Carnival culture, creativity, communities and expertise across the world — working with artists, festivals, governments, cultural organisations and communities to develop Carnival and festival experiences with lasting cultural and social impact.

Our Mission

Global Carnivalz exists to develop, promote and sustain Carnival as a living cultural tradition — locally, nationally and internationally.

We believe Carnival is one of the world's most powerful and inclusive art forms: a tradition of community, creativity, resistance and celebration that belongs to everyone.

Our work spans consultancy, creative direction, cultural strategy, research, training and international partnership — always in service of Carnival's long-term health and development.

History

Our History

Global Carnivalz has its roots in decades of Carnival practice, advocacy and development in the United Kingdom and internationally.

1980s–1990s

Foundations in Carnival

Pax Nindi began his Carnival career in the 1980s, working across UK Carnival arts, community development and outdoor arts. Over two decades he built deep expertise in Carnival production, creative direction and cultural strategy.

2000s

Global Carnival Centre

The Global Carnival Centre was established as a centre of excellence for Carnival arts development, research and international exchange. It became a hub for Carnival knowledge, publications and professional development in the UK and beyond.

2000s–2010s

National Carnival Arts Strategy

Pax led the development of the National Carnival Arts Strategy — a landmark document shaping Carnival policy and investment in England. This work established Carnival as a serious cultural sector deserving sustained public investment and strategic support.

2010s

International Expansion

Global Carnivalz extended its reach internationally, undertaking commissions and partnerships across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and North America. Projects included the Black Star Carnival in Ghana, the Isiolo Peace Carnival in Kenya, and research into Junkanoo in the Bahamas.
